I want you to know that I see you. You are doubted, dismissed and demeaned rather than acknowledged, appreciated, affirmed and protected. I know how you are forced to endure the reality of working twice as hard while getting half as much in return. The fact that you are the smartest in the room usually escapes the rest of the room.  You are asked to make yourself smaller for the comfort of others. Nobody ever told you to code-switch, but you know, sometimes it's the only way to get by. So, you have been denied your authenticity. Your voice has been stifled. Your worth has been questioned. Your beauty is denied while being simultaneously emulated. You endure so much, but you don't break. When life hands you lemons, you make delicious cocktails and keep it pushing. I see you. I am you.
